Russian activity

In today’s update, we’re diving into the recent surge of Russian intelligence operations—a complex web of tactical blunders, ruthless internal control, and a deepening international scandal that is currently rattling the halls of power in London and Warsaw, and elsewhere.

A Tale of Two Operations: Failures and Successes

Russian intelligence is currently operating at a high tempo, though with mixed results. On one hand, we are seeing significant operational friction, exemplified by the failed assassination attempt on Lt. General Vladimir Alekseyev, the second-in-command of the GRU.

On the other hand, the Kremlin continues to find “success” through its domestic apparatus. The state has intensified its campaign of repression against Russian citizens, utilizing fear and systematic control to stifle any internal dissent.

The Polish Investigation and the Epstein Connection

Perhaps the most explosive development is the ongoing investigation led by Polish government and intelligence services. They are working to uncover potential links between Russian agencies and the Jeffrey Epstein network.

The fallout from this investigation has already crossed the English Channel, dealing a massive blow to the UK government.

  • The Mandelson Resignation: Peter Mandelson, recently appointed as the British Ambassador to Washington, was forced to resign and depart the U.S. capital due to his documented past acquaintance with Epstein.
  • Political Fallout: Following his resignation, Mandelson officially quit the Labour Party. And very recently, the chief of staff at 10 Downing Street, resigned for his role in the appointment of Mandelson. This is a significant setback for Prime Minister Keir Starmer, whose leadership is now under intense scrutiny.
  • The Intelligence Axis: There are whispers that Starmer may even be quietly supporting the initiatives taken by Donald Tusk and Polish intelligence. This collaboration isn’t a surprise; the British SIS and the four branches of Polish intelligence (two civilian and two military) have shared a deep-rooted, strategic partnership dating back to World War II.

In Slovakia, Miroslav Lajcak resigned from his post as national security adviser to PM Robert Fico after he appeared in the Epstein files.
Norway has also been heavily harmed by Epstein’s files. Princess Mette-Marit, former Prime Minister Jagland, the Norwegian ambassador to Jordan, Mona Juul or the incumbent CEO of the World Economic Forum, Borge Brende, have been deadly struck.

And of course, Donald Trump.

Disinformation and the Road Ahead

While legitimate investigations proceed, Russia is simultaneously weaponizing the Epstein case to sow discord. We are seeing a massive influx of fake news, rumors, and coordinated disinformation campaigns designed to destabilize Western institutions.
